Medicines for Muheza Update

Medicines for Muheza

This charity has been supported by our community for about 25 years and we are holding our annual service to raise funds for Medicines for Muheza at

St Mary's, Chieveley on Sunday 15 October 2017 at Café Church (follows the United Benefice Service and starts at 10.45am) but you do not need to attend the service to donate!

There will be a 12 minute video showing the fantastic work going on at the hospital, made this summer by Drs Karilyn and Richard Collins.

Last October Edgar, whose salary we have been helping to pay, came and talked at the service. Edgar told us about some of his work at the hospice and hospital. He was on an exchange programme here for 6 weeks.

Since then, we have raised almost £4000 with many generous donations. Our target for the coming year is to try to raise £4000 again to send to the hospital in Muheza, Tanzania. The work there is actively changing and saving so many lives, with very limited resources; the help is both medical and educational.

Previously, donations have generally been made by cash or cheque but I am wondering if more donors would be prepared to set up a standing order, to reduce administration, and let me know so that I can make sure we claim any gift aid where appropriate? More sign up every year, which is really fantastic!
