School Governor – Chieveley Primary School

Are you passionate about education and committed to making a difference in your local community? Chieveley primary school is seeking a volunteer to join its governing board as a school governor. This voluntary position offers a unique opportunity to shape the strategic direction of the school and contribute to the success and wellbeing of its students.  We welcome applications from individuals with enthusiasm, an interest in education and a willingness to learn. In particular, we are keen to hear from those with experience or knowledge in finance.

About the Role

As a school governor, you will collaborate with other governors and school leaders to ensure the school delivers the best possible education for its students. You will play a key role in decision-making, strategic planning, and providing support and challenge to the school’s leadership team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Attend regular meetings and contribute to discussions on school policies and strategic priorities.
  • Help to establish the vision and ethos of the school, ensuring it reflects the needs of the community.
  • Support the school with budgetary decisions and resource allocation.
  • Engage with stakeholders, including parents, students and the local community, to gather insights and feedback.

Requirements
